Can I cancel appointments from Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar?

 

NOTE:  If you are not connected to a personal calendar, follow the procedures as outlined below for canceling if connected to Google. 

If you are connected with Google Calendar:

If your TimeTrade account is connected with Google Calendar, appointments must be canceled from your TimeTrade account. If you cancel the appointment from your Google Calendar, the appointment will not be canceled or removed from your TimeTrade account.

The procedure to cancel an appointment if your TimeTrade account is connected to Google Calendar is as follows:

  • Login to your TimeTrade account.
  • From the lower left column of the main dashboard, select the Appointment Inbox.
  • To select the appointment you wish to cancel, first select the appointment activity name listed just under the appointment inbox.
  • Then select the appointment you wish to cancel, which will become highlighted.
  • Click the cancel this appointment link in the upper right corner of the window.

  • A cancellation request window will appear offering various options such as copying the invitee on the cancellation notice and offering an option to reschedule the appointment.
  • When finished, click the cancel appointment button.

  • The appointment cancellation will be processed and the appointment will be canceled from your TimeTrade account and removed from your Google calendar.

If you are connected with Outlook Calendar:

If your TimeTrade account is connected to Outlook Calendar, appointments can be canceled from either your Outlook Calendar or from your TimeTrade account as described below:

  • Login to your TimeTrade account.
  • From the lower left column of the main dashboard, select the Appointment Inbox.
  • To select the appointment you wish to cancel, first select the appointment activity name listed just under the appointment inbox.
  • Then select the appointment you wish to cancel, which will become highlighted.
  • Click the cancel this appointment link in the upper right corner of the window.

  • A cancellation request window will appear offering various options such as copying the invitee on the cancellation notice and offering an option to reschedule the appointment.

  • When finished, click the cancel appointment button.

  • The appointment cancellation will be processed and the appointment will be canceled from your TimeTrade account and removed from your Outlook calendar.

  • Canceling or moving TimeTrade appointments in Outlook:
    When you cancel a TimeTrade appointment within Outlook, the appointment is removed from both your Outlook calendar and your TimeTrade account. The timeslot in TimeTrade is made available again.
    When you move a TimeTrade appointment within Outlook Calendar, the original TimeTrade appointment will be canceled and removed from TimeTrade and the timeslot becomes available again in TimeTrade. However, the appointment that was moved in Outlook now becomes an "Outlook" busy appointment and takes on the characteristics of an appointment/event created in Outlook. There will be no confirmation emails or reminders sent from TimeTrade for a moved appointment, as it became an "Outlook created" appointment when moved.

NOTE: If you are not connected with Outlook Calendar or Google Calendar:

If your TimeTrade account is not connected to Outlook Calendar or Google Calendar, appointments must be canceled from your TimeTrade Account. Follow procedures as outlined for canceling when connected to Google Calendar.

Hi David,

In order for an invitee to cancel an appointment, they would need to register for the Free Edition account, which is an option they can do when they book an appointment. Click here for further details.

Is there an easy way for clients to cancel appointments they booked with the TimeTrade customer?

Actually, the procedure for canceling TimeTrade appointments when connected with Google Calendar has always been handled as described in the FAQ listed above. If you would like to make a suggestion for enhancement, please add your posting to the Features Request area of the support forum.

I also see this issue as a step backwords.  When will it be corrected?

I used to be able to both cancel appointments from my google calendar as well as reschedule them from my google calendar.  The changes would then be reflected in the time trade calendar.  When and why did this change.  It seems like a real dumbing down of the service.
